$3.77 CVS NYX Haul!

I popped into a local CVS because I had a few coupons I wanted to use up before they expired. Initially upon browsing through the “new beauty” section in the store I was bummed. The particular store was pretty cleared out of new displays and the few that were there weren’t of interest to me. Rounding the corner to leave the store I spotted a fresh, brand new NYX display!

Reading Nouveau Cheap’s website I knew NYX displays were anticipated to begin popping up in my area, but more than likely around April/May. Low and behold this store was up in times so I went to town. I haven’t used any NYX products in the past but I’ve heard so many great things about the line that I grabbed the items that I’ve heard about and wanted to give a try.

I scored a fabulous deal because I had a number of coupons I stacked in this transaction. I had a 20% off from when I got my flu shot in-store, two $5 ECB’s and two separate $4 off CVS coupons.

This here is what I picked up:

-          NYX Roll On Shimmer – Almond
-          NYX Butter Gloss – Éclair
-          NYX Butter Gloss – Tiramisu
-          NYX Butter Gloss – Vanilla Cream Pie
-          NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray

CVS Beauty Club Rimmel Twitter Giveaway

I entered a Twitter giveaway through CVS Beauty Club.  In order to be entered to win, all I had to do was re-tweet CVS Beauty tweet about the giveaway. After the giveaway ended, I was sent a direct message from CVS Beauty Club and I’ll be honest I was completely surprised!

I was advised I would receive my prize within 4-6 weeks.  That timeframe had actually passed by a few weeks, so I sent a direct message back asking if perhaps it was sent out and got delivered to the incorrect address.  A few days later, I received a next-day air package from CVS Beauty Club containing my goodies.

Here’s what I received:

-          Rimmel BB Cream 9-in-1 Skin Perfecting Super Makeup w/ SPF25 in Medium
-          Rimmel Stay Glossy in 160 Stay My Rose
-          Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in 004 Guilty Grey
-          Rimmel Scandaleyes Sow Off Mascara in Extreme Black

QUESTION:
Have you tried any of these Rimmel products?

Shannon’s CVS Clearance Haul

This is one of many CVS hauls over the last few weeks.  I’ve been striking up some deals in CVS and scoring some ECB’s (Extra Care Bucks) left and right on different purchases – so that means more spending on fun things at CVS!  These are two things I picked up as part of CVS’ Clearance sale.  I had been looking for a new dry shampoo because my Suave one is just killing me (the odor that is, it makes me nauseous after a while).  Then I spotted a root lifting spray and I know from watching a few YouTube videos a few of the girls I watch talk about roof lifting sprays/powders so I decided to pick one up. I paid under $2 for the two items on clearance, so double score!

Here’s what I picked up:
-L’Oreal Ever Style Alcohol Free Root Lifting Spray
- John Frieda Luxurious Volume Dry Shampoo

SPOTTED: Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Sticks

Apologies for my absence, I’ve been terribly tired as of late and the thought of typing at the computer was just draining.  The past few days I’ve crawled into bed and immediately passed out.  My body is trying to fight off some sort of cold which is starting to rear its little ugly head.  But … anyway, onto my posting.

Earlier last week I popped into CVS to pick up some things and in doing that, it meant I had to browse around the store.  I’ve seen a lot of YouTube postings about new drugstore items so I wanted to see what my CVS had.  I was surprised they didn’t have a whole lot out yet, but this was one of the newer displays that I hadn’t seen anyone talk about yet.  The product reminded me of the Revlon Just Bitten balms so I was immediately intrigued.

This is the Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Sticks display, which features 8 different shades, which range from lighter to darker.  Quite a nice selection if you ask me.  I will say I like that the caps on these are clear so you can see the actual color of the product – whereas with the Revlon you had to judge by swatches online and/or the cap color (which was slightly different than the color payoff of the product).  At my particular CVS these were $9.29/each but with CVS sales, coupons, etc., you may be able to get a better deal – as pricing and deals vary store to store.

The shades in this collection are as follows:
-          10 Juicy Peach
-          20 Fresh Papaya
-          30 Sweet Watermelon
-          40 Bright Berry
-          50 Warm Caramel
-          60 Soft Raspberry
-          70 Plum Perfect
-          80 Rich Raisin

SUPER Belated CVS Haul!

Yes, super belated.  These pictures have been sitting on my camera for … ever.  Like what, almost 2-months? I think … but it’s something like that.  I went into CVS because I had ECB’s to use up, plus that week Physician’s Formula was buy any item over $10 gets $7 ECB’s back.  I almost bought the bronzer the week prior, but a blogger on twitter saw my tweet and replied to me letting me know PF products would be on sale the following week – so I sat tight and waited for Sunday to roll around.  I tend to be an impulsive shopper and my need for the PF product was impulsivity so I’m surprised I waited.  But in the end I’m glad I did because I was able to get a lot more product for my money than just getting one and paying full price for it.

Here’s what I picked up:

-          Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser
-          CVS Purifying Mint Masque
-          Physicians Formula – pH Matchmaker Powdered Bronzer
-          Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder
-          Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy in Galactic

Shannon’s Free CVS Haul

Sometimes I’m quite astounded as to how CVS stays in business with how much money they give away to customers.  By money I mean product, and even ECB’s.  I checked out my Extracare card online and noticed I had a few coupons pending – one was for a few dollars off a Clear shampoo, $3 off a CVS brand shampoo and $3 off a CVS brand face care product.  I went browsing around the store and found a 2-in-1 shampoo for $2.99 making it free after my coupon, a travel size pack of exfoliating face wipes for $2.99 making them free and the Clear shampoo was on sale 2 for $5 the week I went in.  I had a $2 CVS coupon and on the bottles was a $3 off manufacturer’s coupon.  The coupon had expired but since CVS employees did not remove the coupons from the bottles I was told they had to honor it – therefore making it free. Score all around!  Thanks, CVS!

Review: Freeman Facial Anti-Stress Mask Dead Sea Minerals

I picked up this Freeman Facial Anti-Stress Dead Sea Minerals mask at CVS a few months back.  I actually got this for free because Freeman had little rebate offers on the product, which allowed you to get your money back for the item.  All I had to do was fill out the little bitty form and mail it in with my receipt and I got a check for the balance ($3.99) within 6-8 weeks.

PACKAGING & PRICE:
The product comes in a bright blue squeeze tube that holds 6 fl oz. of product.  The color of the packaging is the same color of the product.  The tube is actually quite eye catching, which is one of the reasons I picked it up – I was looking for the Mint Julep mask, since they didn’t have it, I noticed this and grabbed it.  As mentioned briefly above, this retails for $3.99 at CVS.  The price is pretty standard in all selling locations, but you may be able to get it on sale during select weeks depending on what stores are pushing in ads for the week.  There are also single use foil packages available with .5 fl oz of product in them, but in my travels I have only seen them at Walmart – those I believe sell for $1.40.

PRODUCT:
The product is a bright blue shade and is a rather thick cream – think really thick body lotion.  It’s creamier in consistency when rubbed onto the skin and applies easily.  As the product starts to dry it can be a little harder to work with because it dries into a clay consistency.  You may also find certain spots on your face dry faster than others and if you want to go back over a thinner spot, some product will rub off, so you have to try to cover all skin on first application.  There isn’t a real scent to the product but I would say it’s got a “clean” scent to it.  It’s nothing obnoxious and nothing even remotely overpowering.  It’s advertised as a product to aid in purifying and clearing pores.

PURCHASING:
The Freeman’s Facial Anti-Stress Dead Sea Minerals can be found at your local pharmacy – Walgreens, CVS, or Rite Aid.  It’s also available at Ulta as well as on Drugstore.com & Amazon.  The mini single-use packages are available at Walmarts.  Outside of the handful of these locations, I’m not sure where else they would be sold.  The regular 6 fl oz. bottle is a better bang for your buck, especially when comparing $4 vs $1.40 and the amount of product you receive (6 oz vs .5 oz).

OVERALL:
I quite enjoy this mask.  It goes on smoothly and dries quickly – within 5 minutes or so your mask will be completely dry.  As it dries your face will feel tighter but it’s not uncomfortable, even if you are talking while it’s dried and/or drying.  The texture of the mask gets harder on your skin after dried – which makes sense since the product is made of clay.  I thought it would be a lot harder to wash off but with a few handfuls of water, it rinses off with ease.  You could even put this on before taking a shower and easily rinse it of while showering.  The water and a slight rub of your hands remove it with ease.  I found after use, my skin feels much smoother and softer after use.  I quite enjoy this mask and the results obtained from using it.

RATING:
4 stars

Haul: Garnier Skin Renew

I picked up a tube of Garnier Skin Renew at CVS last weekend to try out on my face.  I've been super annoyed with my skin lately and since I'm waiting to see my dermatologist (hopefully this week) I'll have some better advise as to how to move forward.

I originally went into CVS looking for the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Eventone Dark Spot Corrector BUT I've been highly unsuccessful in locating that anywhere.  Since I couldn't find the Palmer's I went in search of the new Olay CC Cream BUT CVS didn't have that either.  So that left me meandering through the skincare aisle aimlessly and I stumbled upon the Garnier section.  I noticed the Dark Spot Corrector so I pulled it off the shelf.  I went back and fourth as to if I should get it or not and I finally decided what the heck, it won't hurt to try it.  This was $17.99 and I was able to get $2 off using one of the coupons taped up near the product.  They also have an overnight peel, but since I do use Retin-A I figured that may be doing more unnecessary things to my face and/or it may just have a huge couter-reaction to my Retin-A and cause me even more skin troubles.  Anyway, I haven't noticed any results as of yet, but then again it's only been a handful of days.  But one thing I do notice is if I don't use a toner on my face before applying this, I get SUPER shiny and oily and just gross within a few hours.  If I use a toner underneath this and then apply a moisturizer over this, it's not terrible and I don't notice the oil.  But as I use it more, I'll be able to pinpoint certain things and hopefully (fingers crossed) see some results.

LONG awaited CVS haul!

Yes, I’m really far behind, but better late than never.  This is a haul I did I want to say … in July ::hangs head in shame::.  I want to say it was July, but it was around the time that CVS was doing their second round of clearance on beauty related items.  I saw a haul by Madison (on LUUUX) featuring the 3D Sally Hansen polishes and if I recall correctly, I saw swatches by Heatherann (on LUUUX) for one of the shades so I made an excuse as to why I needed to rush to CVS right away.  Thankfully when I got there they still had the Sally Hansen polishes which were on clearance for $1.75.  Oddly enough most of the shades that others were picking up were not on clearance at my store only 4 colors were – but I only purchased 3 because the fourth was just a shade I would never wear because it was so light.  I had ECB’s to spend so I made sure I reached my $20 limit to save $5 and I stacked it with a 25% off and a few manufacturers coupons so I only ended up spending I want to say around $5 for all of this if I remember correctly.

Here’s what I picked up:

-    Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in the shade 08
-    Sally Hansen HD Hi-Definition Nail Color – Byte
-    Sally Hansen HD Hi-Definition Nail Color – DVD
-    Sally Hansen HD Hi-Definition Nail Color – Wavelength
-    Covergirl Outlast  lip color in 536 Spicy Beige

57 CENT CVS Haul!

This is my 57 cent CVS haul!

I popped into CVS yesterday because they had e-mailed me a coupon for a free Unreal candy bar (which you signed up for through their Facebook page).  I also received a 20% off your beauty purchases coupon in my e-mail so I printed that off.  I then logged into my CVS Extracare account online and saw a $2 off any CVS Brand body wash/soap so I printed it out figuring I’d get a pretty decent deal using it. After this, off to CVS I went.  Once inside I scanned my card at the red machine and was given a $2 off any Sally Hansen treatment and a $2 off any Rimmel product.  I was taking my time walking around and decided I did not want to spend $13 on the new Conair brush I wanted so I decided to just get a few things.  I grabbed the Unreal candy (the M&M dupe), headed over to the body wash section and found the CVS brand of Old Spice.  It smelled good so I figured I’d get it for my boyfriend and since it was technically a “beauty” product the 20% off would go against that.  I then decided to see what deal I could score with the Sally Hansen coupon so I saw their Hard as Nails for like $3.53, I figured I could pay the $1.53 for it, but I found a $2 off manufacturer coupon in my purse so it turned out to be free!  The overage from the Sally Hansen coupons and the 20% off beauty for the nail product went towards the body wash reducing the price further.  Not bad for a last minute run into CVS to cure a mini shopping itch.

FREEBIE: Freeman - Anti-Stress Mask

A couple weeks back I picked up a bottle of this Freeman's Anti-Stress Mask with Dead Sea Minerals.  I got this for absolutely free with the thanks to a mail in rebate which was on the bottle when I purchased it from CVS.  It was quite a great deal because I picked up some other items, using some CVS ExtraCare Bucks.  I technically paid $3.99 for this, but after about 6-8 weeks I was mailed the rebate check.  Which I have received, I just need to cash it.  Mail in rebates can be a pain in the butt to deal with because you have to fill out the form and mail it in (and remember to actually MAIL it in).  But the great thing with a mail in rebate is you get to try a product for free.  Granted it's a bit of money out of your pocket at first, but you end up getting it back in the end.  If you are in the market to try out a Freeman product, check out your local CVS (and/or Walgreens) to see if they have the little rebate forms on the product!

Overdue CVS Haul

This is a super late CVS haul on my behalf - tsk, tsk.  This was actually my birthday haul (May 22nd) because I wanted to buy myself something for my birthday as a pick-me-up (like I need an excuse to shop, right?).  I popped into CVS on the way to see my father and picked up a few things for myself.  I ended up getting a few nail polishes and a lipgloss.  Not like I really needed any but, I'm impulsive and it's what I ended up getting.  I've really wanted Essie's Wrapped in Rubies for a long while now and this CVS happened to have it in stock, sooo I had to have it. Why? Because I'm impulsive and items just jump in my basket.  I really wanted Essie's Play Date but I didn't want to spend $16 on 2 Essie polishes so I ended up seeing a Rimmel duo and the shade was relatively similar.  I haven't tried any Rimmel polishes in the past, so I'd like to see how this lives up as a manicure.

So here's what I picked up:
- Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro Nail Polish in Wild Orchard
- Rimmel Base Coat & Top Coat Pro
- Rimmel Lip Gloss in My Eternity
- Essie Nail Polish in Wrapped in Rubies

Under $5 CVS Nail Polish Haul!

On Easter Sunday (yes this is an old haul!) I went to the pharmacy with my niece. My sister-in-law had my nephew so I took on the job of watching my niece in the morning – and when she showed up to my house she wanted Play-Doh. Play-Doh? I don’t have Play-Doh, the Play-Doh she had was at her house with her little ice cream creation station was at her house. After talking her into going to the store with me (that’s hard to do with a nearly 3-year old) she decided to go because I promised her Play-Doh. Why I promise children Play-Doh on Easter Sunday is beyond me because it never occurred to me what if CVS doesn’t HAVE any? Anyway, low-and-behold after getting to the store and nearly having a heart attack at the pharmacy because I couldn’t spot Play-Doh I FINALLY found the ONLY pastel Play-Doh in the entire store. Score! A happy niece, meant a happy auntie, so auntie picked up a few bottles of soda and headed on over to the beauty section. My time in the beauty section was cut short because my niece was climbing out of the little car-cart telling me she needed to pick out something for herself. Before she could grab nail polish, and possibly drop them and have them smash (as they do with her aunt in stores LOL) we quickly ran to the checkout. I had a $5 off your next $15 purchase and a 25% off your entire purchase (minus sale items) so I paid a little under $5 for the four nail polishes shown – which typically retail for $1.99 each (NYC) and $5.49 for the Milani shade.

Here’s what I picked up:
NYC In A New York Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish (City Sweets Collection):
- Mint Macaroon
- City Sweets Pink
- Lavender Cupcake

- Milani Nail Lacquer - Beach Front

QUESTION:

Have you purchased any of the above polishes?

Images are mine do not take or use. Thank you.

Shannon’s Discounted CVS Haul!

Last week I popped into CVS to get a drink with a free coupon I had, during that transaction I was given a 30% off your next transaction coupon. That of course got my wheels churning. I was e-mailed a $4 off your $20 purchase so I printed that out to combine the two coupons together for even better savings. So what did I do? Grabbed some of the nail polishes I’ve been wanting, figuring it was best to get them now while I had great discounts than to pay full price and/or not even get them at all. I also went in search of the clearance section and found this measly looking section in the back, but there was one Physician’s Formula quad that I decided to snag because the for the price and the matte shades it was too good to pass up. I ended up paying $12.13 and ended up getting a $5.00 reward back from the CVS Beauty Club!

Here’s what I picked up:
• Physicians Formula Matte Collection Eye Shadow Quad in Canyon Classics (3882)- On clearance for $1.84
• Wet n Wild Spoiled Nail Color – Shaken Snow Globe
Milani Nail Lacquer – Jewel FX – Hot Pink
• Milani Nail Lacquer– Sail Away
• Nicole by OPI – Kardashian Collection – Kendall on the Katwalk

So there you have it, my fabulously discounted CVS haul!

QUESTIONS:
Have you tried any of these items listed?
Do you combine coupons and CVS offers to get the best bang for your buck?

Images are mine do not take or use. Thank you.

FREE CVS Polish Haul!

Yes, all these polishes were technically free to me thanks to CVS Extra Rewards!  I had purchased the Garnier BB Cream, but since I’ve been following my acne regiment, my face was in no shape for me to be using cream on it (I wasn’t even able to wear foundation/cover up) because everything looked cakey on my skin. Because of this I ended up returning the BB cream and received my $10 in ECB’s on a gift card to be used at a later date.  Turns out, these days thanks to my new facial cleaning regiment, I’m able to use product on my face again.  Go figure!  I picked up a number of polishes I had spotted that I wanted to add to my collection at CVS.  Most are from the Wet n Wild Spoiled line (which is on sale 2 for $3 this week, BTW – sale ends Saturday!) and also picked up one of the new NYC polishes and used a CVS coupon I printed out online so I only paid $1 for it!

Here’s what I picked up:
-          Wet n Wild Spoiled Nail Polish – Use Protection
-          Wet n Wild Spoiled Nail Polish – Shrimp on the Barbie
-          Wet n Wild Spoiled Nail Polish – I Don’t Drink Cheap Wine
-          Wet n Wild Spoiled Nail Polish – My Silicone Popped
-          Wet n Wild Spoiled Nail Polish – Shuffle the Deck
-          Wet n Wild Spoiled Nail Polish – Papa-Paparazzi
-          NYC In a Minute Sparkling Top Coat – Big City Dazzle

Wet n Wild Spoiled Nail Polish Haul!

Wet n Wild’s Spoiled nail polish line is on sale at CVS this week for 2 for $3! Typically these sell for $1.99 each and are sold exclusively at CVS, so I figured even though it was only a dollar savings buying 2, it was better to have that savings and to try some more shades from this line. So far, what I have tried, I have loved. I find since every CVS I go to, has different shades (I have yet to find a CVS that is fully stocked) I am over and over again finding something else I want. I had picked up 3 different polishes during this haul and one of them I only purchased because the sun was blasting through the front doors at CVS and the sun caught this shade and I could see blue, purple, green and I just HAD to have it.

Here’s what I picked up:
- Wet n Wild Spoiled Nail Polish – Jewelry Heist. This is a clear based glitter polish, which has various sized glitters in it, small, medium and hexagon. The glitter shades vary from purple, blue, black, golden, silver, pink, etc. It’s really a pretty shade, one that I think will work fabulously with a lighter shade polish or even a white polish.
- Wet n Wild Spoiled Nail Polish – Toad-ally Amazing. This is a mint green polish that has silver microshimmers in it. The microshimmers didn’t come out in the photograph, the sun was being battled by cloud after cloud when I was taking these photos – but there ARE silver microshimmers in it.. I thought it was very pretty. I don’t typically do minty colored polishes because they don’t always work with my skintone the greatest – but I wanted to give this one a shot because it was different and not flat.
- Wet n Wild Spoiled Nail Polish – The Parking Meteor Expired. I will say this is STUNNINGLY GORGEOUS in the sunlight, the shimmers in it reflect from teal to purple – but outside of the sunlight, it’s okay. This is a midnight blue/black polish which has flecks in it. I feel in love with this polish as the sun was glistening off it in the store and it had to come with me. I probably wouldn’t have even picked this up if I had not seen it’s gorgeousness in the sunlight!
