SPOTTED: Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Sticks

Apologies for my absence, I’ve been terribly tired as of late and the thought of typing at the computer was just draining.  The past few days I’ve crawled into bed and immediately passed out.  My body is trying to fight off some sort of cold which is starting to rear its little ugly head.  But … anyway, onto my posting.

Earlier last week I popped into CVS to pick up some things and in doing that, it meant I had to browse around the store.  I’ve seen a lot of YouTube postings about new drugstore items so I wanted to see what my CVS had.  I was surprised they didn’t have a whole lot out yet, but this was one of the newer displays that I hadn’t seen anyone talk about yet.  The product reminded me of the Revlon Just Bitten balms so I was immediately intrigued.

This is the Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Sticks display, which features 8 different shades, which range from lighter to darker.  Quite a nice selection if you ask me.  I will say I like that the caps on these are clear so you can see the actual color of the product – whereas with the Revlon you had to judge by swatches online and/or the cap color (which was slightly different than the color payoff of the product).  At my particular CVS these were $9.29/each but with CVS sales, coupons, etc., you may be able to get a better deal – as pricing and deals vary store to store.

The shades in this collection are as follows:
-          10 Juicy Peach
-          20 Fresh Papaya
-          30 Sweet Watermelon
-          40 Bright Berry
-          50 Warm Caramel
-          60 Soft Raspberry
-          70 Plum Perfect
-          80 Rich Raisin

SPOTTED: Goody Spin Pin & Modern Up Do ($1 ea!)

I spotted an entire display of Goody brand Spin Pin and Modern Up Do hair accessories at my local Dollar Tree in both the light (for lighter hair shades) and dark (for darker hair shades).  Like everything that is sold at Dollar Tree these are selling there for $1 each.  I have recently seen these on sale at major retailers for the full retail price, so I was surprised to see these at Dollar Tree.  I received my first box of Spin Pins in my Voxbox and I instantly fell in love – so I made sure I picked up another box of these at Dollar Tree for a back-up.  I also picked up one of the modern up do’s to leave in my purse and/or car glove compartment.

In case you are not aware of how amazing these products are – the spin pins will give you a flawless looking bun in a matter of seconds.  All you do is spin these corkscrew looking pins into your hair (it doesn’t hurt – if you’d like you can see my full review here: http://shannonseyeonbeauty.blogspot.com/2012/11/review-goody-spin-pins.html ) whereas the modern up do will give you a flawless looking up do in a matter of seconds.

SPOTTED: Revlon’s Sparkle Aplenty nail polish – Runway Report Display

This is quite possibly the most beautiful Revlon nail polish I have seen in a while. While zipping thru Walgreen’s the other day I spotted this and immediately fell in love. Lets back-track for a moment here, I happen to be pretty obsessed with dark color nail polishes (for a while I was all about black nail polish) so it does not come as a surprise that I am completely in love with this Sparkle Aplenty shade. Just from the naked eye to draw a comparison you could compare this against Revlon’s Scandalous nail polish which is the purple colored glitter based nail polish.

Sparkle Aplenty is a thin black polish which has black and silver small and large chunky glitters in it. I personally have not swatched it so I cannot state whether or not it applies nicely, but it’s such a gorgeous shade. It retails for $4.99 at Walgreen’s and I’m sure it will start popping up at other pharmacies and department stores in the weeks to come. The nail polish is featured on a single display which only houses the new shade – the display name is Runway Report.

SPOTTED: Sinful Colors Hot Flash Metallics Collection

On my way into Walgreen’s to get a bottle of soda I of course breezed past the beauty section.  Typically when I’m just browsing I only check the first 3 little subsections at the front of my store and then anything on/near the check-out counter in the beauty section.  There was nothing really eye catching on the first little 3-rowed section at the front, but there was a display near the beauty check-out counter that immediately caught my eye.  I first picked up 2 shades and put them back telling myself I did not need them (self control – hoorah! Although … I did go back 2 days later to get them). So I took out my phone and snapped a few photos of it because they are just gorgeous, gorgeous colors and I haven’t seen them discussed on any beauty blogger site that I tend to browse through on occasion.

Metallic polishes have been popping up on the market as they are seemingly the “it” thing in the polish world.  Essie has the most notable collection of metallic polishes which I think can pretty much be found anywhere now (for a while they weren’t in my local area but now they are all over the place).  From what I understand with the Sinful Colors polishes is all Walgreens do not have the displays up yet.  I’ve been to three separate Walgreen’s over the past week and have spotted the display in 2 of them; the other did not have it out.  The first Walgreen’s I went to had it out for at least a few days because it had some purchases off it.  The store I went to today was fully-stocked and looked like it was just put out this morning.  Anyway!

The display contains 8 nail polishes.  One of which I wouldn’t say is metallic (the red) but who am I to judge?  There are 2 colors which are very similar to one another (Zincing of You and Super Nova) which are literally a few shades lighter/darker from one another and the blues (Precious Metal and Hot Wired).  One is a brighter blue shade and the other is a darker which is a black based blue.  But I will say ALL are gorgeous.  The shades in this collection are as follows:

-    Precious Metal
-    Zincing of You
-    Hot Wired
-    Moss Have
-    Heavy Metal
-    Super Nova
-    Gone Platinum
-    Hot Hot Heat

SPOTTED: Snap-On Feathers @ Dollar Tree

While running what I felt were countless shopping trips today I headed into Dollar Tree to pick up some items to bring to work. While there I of course skipped into the beauty section to see what they had since I have not been to this particular Dollar Tree in a while. I did see some As Seen on TV: Snap-On Feather extensions. The boxes contain two separate shade of feathers and for a $1 you can't go wrong if you just wanted to try them out. I did not purchase, but I wanted to share in case anyone else would be interested in trying these out. Feather extensions were all the rage months ago and have since begun to die out but I have noticed folks are getting them but the feathers are much smaller and not as drastic as they were when the trend first emerged.

If this is something you or someone you know would like trying -- send them to your nearest Dollar Tree, you may find exactly what you are looking for. Plus, for $1 if you find you don't like them -- you aren't losing a whole lot.

SPOTTED: Pure Ice Crackle Effects Nail Polish

I had popped into Walgreen's last week and while browsing around the beauty section I spotted a new display of Pure Ice nail polishes. If you are not familiar with the Pure Ice brand it's a nail polish line that is primarily sold at Walmart and at Walmart the regular line shades run for $1.99 each (similar to the NYC and other lower end drug store lines). Now, I didn't even know Walgreen's sold Pure Ice brand polishes, I know Walmart does and I thought that was the only retailer - but I guess I was wrong! This particular Walgreen's had the new crackle effect (aka shatter) polishes on sale for $3.99 each, or you could get 2 for $5. The color selection was what caught my eye initially because they have this gorgeous, vibrant, taxi-cab yellow. They also had little combo packs of polishes which came with a regular shade of polish and the crackle polish which would compliment that shade. The combo pack also came with a mini decorative nail file. The two were wrapped together and sold for the each price. Not bad at all -- but I don't believe those were available for the 2 for $5.

QUESTIONS:
Do you like crackle/shatter polishes?
Have you tried any of the Pure Ice nail polishes?

SPOTTED @ Big Lots: Salon Express Nail Art Stamping Kit

I went to Big Lots yesterday really only to pick up some headphones that my boyfriend wanted, but of course, I started looking around. I'll get around to posting my haul at some point. Anyway! While in the beauty section I noticed this display, up on the top shelf of the Salon Express Nail Art Stamping Kits! The greatest part? They are ONLY $6.50!
I currently own a Nail Express stamping kit and picked it up for $10 at CVS (which was technically free after ECB's) but it's a great savings for anyone who wanted a stamping kit and hasn't picked one up yet. My local store had a pretty large display which wasn't really touched.

The Salon Express stamping kit aids in creating designs on your fingernails, which can transform your manicure into something you would get at a nail salon. It's all DIY, so you can get as creative with your designs as you want. I will say this though, if you want to get your hands on one of these for this price, I'd suggest popping into your local Big Lots and seeing if they have one and picking it up if you want one. I can't say I've seen this kit this low anywhere (and trust me, I get around in the shopping world LOL).

QUESTIONS:

-Do you own a nail stamping kit? If not, will you be heading out to try to pick one up?
-Do you shop at Big Lots periodically?

Images are mine do not take or use. Thank you.

SPOTTED: “Make Some Noise” collection by Sinful Colors

While at Walgreen’s picking up some Sinful Colors polishes (They are on sale for 99 cents this week!!) I spotted the new Make Some Noise collection. I picked up a few shades from this collection but now that I look at the pictures I wish I picked up a few more. This particular line goes hand-and-hand with the neon craze. Some of the shades in this particular collection are part of the permanent line, while others are new. All the shades are really bright and colorful. A few are rather sheer and would take a few coats to build up the opacity, while others you may be able to get away with one coat.

The shades in this collection are:
- Dream On A bright, deep lilac
- Pink A bright deep pink
- Summer PeachNeon orange
- Cream Pink A right magenta
- Neon Melon Neon at its finest – this is a bright yellow with a green hue to it
- Irish Green A bright neony green
- Fusion Neon A bright bubble gum pink

As I’ve mentioned above these are on sale for 99 cents this week at Walgreen’s, so if you see a shade shown that you’d love OR want to just stock up on some Sinful Colors polishes that you’ve been wanting I suggest you get to Walgreen’s before the sale ends Saturday night!

QUESTIONS:
Do you like the neon polish craze?
Do you like Sinful Colors nail polishes?

SPOTTED: Wet n Wild Summer Getaway nail polish sets!

While purchasing some “much needed” nail polish at Walgreen’s today, I spotted these new mini Wet n Wild nail polish kits! In case you aren’t aware, Wet n Wild tends to come out with mini nail polish sets for seasons – typically they are a big ticket item around Christmas. This time they’re on sale for spring/summer and the mini set is titled Spring Getaway! Each set comes with six mini nail polishes in it, each that are part of Wet n Wilds fast dry line. The shades are all spring/summer appropriate since that is all the rage right now. Sadly the individual polish names were not on the box, but I did snap an up-close picture on my phone to share with everyone. If you are interested in picking up the set they are available at Walgreen’s (I’m not sure if these are on sale anywhere else) and retail at $3.99 each.

The set itself comes with the following shade range:
- A shimmery orange
- Bright almost neon yellow
- Bright minty green
- Violet
- Bright “Barbie” pink
- A shiny deep purple

QUESTIONS:
Have you spotted these at your local Walgreen’s?
Would you be interested in picking these up for yourself?

Images are mine do not take or use. Thank you.
