Haul: Bye Bye Blemish

Bye Bye Blemish Drying Lotion has become a staple in my acne skincare routine whenever I have a large/small breakout on my face. I realize this product isn’t a miracle worker (meaning it is not going to get rid of all my acne) but it’s a pretty stand-up product where it helps treat my acne, reducing some of it and working at shrinking others.

In case you’re not aware, Bye Bye Blemish is a sulfur based acne skincare product. So with sulfur based product, the product does have a very noticeable scent to it. But after a few minutes it doesn’t come off as very noticeable. Mario Badescu as well as other skin care lines have come out with drying lotion sulfur products.

I had this on my list of things to repurchase … and then I realized when I used my product last I didn’t screw the cap on all the way so some of the liquid had evaporated. So I went into “panic mode” and submitted an order on Amazon for it.  Hooray for Amazon and hooray for Bye Bye Blemish Drying Lotion!

You can see my review of the product here.

Amazon Haul: Hair Donut

I was watching YouTube videos and saw a few ladies mentioning using hair donuts to perfect their bun.  So, I went on Amazon and searched for a hair donut and found one for 79 cents – shipping from Hong Kong.  I know there are a few stores that sell hair donuts, but I couldn’t remember what store sells them and when I was looking for them back in March I was getting weird looks asking girls that work in certain stores if they had a hair donut.

I figured for 79 cents I couldn’t go wrong, so I added it to my shopping cart and had it shipped to my house.  It did take about 3-4 weeks to arrive at my house.  It’s a classic hair donut, nothing special about it. You slip your hair through the middle and fan it around the hair donut and pin into place and use a hair tie if you wish.  I’m finding that my hair is almost too thin to use the hair donut.  Granted I’ve tried it once but I’m going to allow myself to get more comfortable with it.  This particular donut would be best suitable for anyone with long hair … my hair is longer (past my shoulder blades) but I think if it were just a tad longer it would work a lot better because I’d have more hair to move around the donut.

QUESTION:
Do you use a hair donut, sock or bun maker to create a flawless bun for yourself?

Amazon Haul: “Ghetto” Beauty Blenders

I admit, I’ve wanted to try the Beauty Blender, but I just cannot drop $20+ on a sponge. Just. Can’t. Do. It!  While browsing Amazon I started looking at Beauty Blenders, thinking perhaps I’d find them for less online (hopefully).  Nay on that go – but I found knock-off Beauty Blenders in a pack of four, providing 2 tear drop shape and 2 egg shape sponges.  They were shipped from China and I paid like $5.50 with shipping for them to arrive.  It took about 2-3 weeks for delivery.

I admit they are a little bouncy.  I have not tried them yet to see how they apply, but since I haven’t tried the Beauty Blender I have nothing to compare it to.  I typically wear BB Cream or Mineral Powder as my foundation but lately I’ve purchased a few liquid foundations to try out so I figured this would be nice to try with them.  I also wanted to try it with my BB cream to see if it gives me a glowier look.

Shannon’s Amazon Haul

This is a bit of a late haul – but better late than never.  I ended up purchasing this stuff simply because I wanted the Bye Bye Blemish.  I went to order it from Ulta but it was sold out online and since none of my local pharmacies carry the product – Amazon came to my rescue.  I knew I had wanted some Steripods since I had been placing them in my Amazon cart for months.  Unfortunately the item is only an “add on” item meaning it doesn’t qualify toward free shipping.  The same went with a few items I purchased so I kept having to expand my laundry list of purchases to get free shipping (which in turn only spends more money….)  Anyway, here’s what I picked up:

- Steripod Toothbrush Sanitizers (2-pack)
- Bye Bye Blemish for acne – Drying Lotion
- Oral B Glide – 3D White Floss Picks [I purchased because I cannot find the Oral B floss picks my dentist gives me and it’s driving me crazy lol]
- 4 ½ inch watch link remover [Purchased this because I hadn’t been able to wear my watch I purchased online because the links needed to be removed.  I got this on Amazon for $3.50 and it works perfectly. I’m clueless when it comes to watches, etc., and I was able to remove the links in my watch quite simply]

So there you have it, my Amazon haul!

Shannon's Amazon Haul: Skin MD

This was a haul which was triggered by MakeupbyTiffany on YouTube.  She had been talking about this moisturizing lotion which could be used on hand, face and body.  The fact that she said it worked so well is what triggered me to purchase.  During the winter and occasionally during the summer the backs of my hands get terribly chapped due to the weather.  Lately I've been having issues with my fingers so I figured that could help -- while this could also work on my face when I get into an intense routine of my Retin-A which tends to make my skin flake and somewhat dry in certain areas.  I went on the SkinMD website and noticed it stated they sold the product at CVS -- so I called the few CVS' around me after going to two of them and found no one really carried it -- not even the one CVS the companies website listed.  I then looked it up on Amazon and purchased it that way -- while it was also cheaper to purchase on Amazon than it was direct.

Haul: Proactiv Refining Mask

Never had I imagined myself purchasing a Proactiv product.  BUT I have this horrible obsession with purchasing things Nikki Phillippi on YouTube recommends.  I tend to have the same acne issues that she had and is dealing with – and I’m using two of the same prescription products she’s been using (I just happen to not use mine as consistently which is the problem).  So because we have the same types of acne issues, I tend to listen to what she has to say regarding products for acne/scarring, etc.  The past few weeks my face has been going crazy with acne and I’m not sure what has really been breaking me out so in a state of I’ll do anything, I purchased this Proactiv Refining Mask on Amazon for under $5.  I’ve never used Proactiv products simply because I’ve been under dermatologist care and the type of acne I have, Proactiv wouldn’t touch it other than dry the crap out of my skin.  BUT I am looking forward to seeing how this works on trouble spots and/or my face in general dependent upon how I use it.

90 CENT Amazon Haul - Replacement Battery & Screen Protectors!

I'd been complaining about my cell phone dying out after less than 10 minutes of use (particularly if using an app) and was getting ready to just take the plunge and buy a new phone (which would mean another 2-year contract).  My contract ran out at the end of last year and I find after 2-years my phones tend to start to act up.  Whether that's something cell phone companies do or just the general wear and tare on the cell phone itself and/or battery -- who knows.  But every time I get a new phone it costs me at LEAST $350 including the phone, the car charger, the case, etc.  I'm trying to pay off some of my bills at the moment so buying a new phone is not something I really want to do.  Anyway!

After my boyfriend heard me complaining about my phone, he asked me why didn't I just buy a new battery.  A new battery?  I had never thought of that.  I knew batteries thru my cell phone carrier could be up to $50 so I decided to do some research online.  I found the same battery for my phone, brand new being sold on Amazon for $5.20.  I did some researching on the company and from what I found out the batteries are new, but are 6-months old.  A new battery for $5.20 and no one has sent a negative review to say their batteries didn't work?  Sign me up!  I added the battery to my Amazon cart and thru the distributor it was free shipping -- so no need for a $25 minimum.

I then started looking for screen protectors and found a pack of 3 for 70 cents with free shipping -- so into my cart they went as well!

Now how did I spent 90 cents on both of these?  Well, I had a $5 Amazon gift card from Swagbucks, so I dropped that into the payment section and was left with a 90 cent balance.  SCORE!!

Both of my items arrived unharmed and so far the battery has been fantastic.  My phone isn't dying in 10 minute increments anymore -- so we'll see what happens after a few weeks of use.
